Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly happening.
